Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises

Welcome aboard Hyannis Whale Watcher Cruises for a wildlife experience that you will never forget.  Located in Barnstable, Massachusetts, it is Cape Cod’s only mid-cape whale watch.

Their state-of-the-art jet-powered boat is the fastest and most whale-friendly vessel of her kind in the Northeast. Whether you choose to relax within her climate-controlled cabins or on the spacious sun decks, the M/V will quickly carry you across the waters of Cape Cod Bay to your destination - the whales.

Imagine days past as you cruise by the quaint cottage colony and lighthouse on Sandy Neck, one of the Northeast’s most beautiful barrier beaches, located at the mouth of Historic Barnstable Harbor.

Throughout your trip experienced naturalists will share an intriguing look into the “wonderful world of whales.” They will provide a fascinating, in-depth commentary on the local ecology and history of this unique area and freely roam about the boat to answer any questions that you might have.

While aboard, the friendly galley staff will be serving up a wide variety of food and drink to fill every sailor’s appetite, along with your favorite alcoholic beverages. Box lunches are also available, if requests are made in advance.

In the evenings they also offer a Sunset Clambake Dinner Cruise with live entertainment and dancing.

Buses are greeted upon arrival and free motorcoach parking is offered. Group rates and comps are also offered. It is suggested that reservations be made. A 50 percent deposit is required at the time reservations are made with the remainder due on the day of sailing. They offer a handicap accessible vessel with cushioned seating. The whale watch cruise is 3 1/2 to 4 hours long. Dinner cruises are 2 1/2 hours long to include sunsets.

Multi Day Packages for Groups by Erie Canal Cruises Inc.

You cannot turn back time, but you can take a three day / two night trip through history in the beautiful Mohawk Valley and Catskill Mountains of upstate New York.

A typical three day / two night package will start with a cruise on one of Erie Canal Cruises’  “Lil’ Diamond” vessels.  You will travel through a 100-year-old lock and hear a full historical narration of the Erie Canal from its inception in 1817 to its present day use. Today the canal has very light cargo traffic but has become a “yacht highway” for vessels attempting a 5,600 mile trip called the “Great Circle Cruise”.  The “Great Circle Cruise” is a circumnavigation of the eastern half of the United States and a feather in the cap of all who complete it.  Depending on the time of year, it would not be unusual for Lil’ Diamond to be locking through with multimillion dollar yachts. The canal also has great fishing and is used by many local recreational craft.

That evening you will dine at the Waterfront Grille located directly on the Erie Canal/Mohawk River. Not only is the food great but so are the views.

The next morning you will head to the world famous “Herkimer Diamond Mines”.  Herkimer Diamonds are beautiful double terminated quart crystals.  These crystals are magnificent works of nature, found in the mine and appearing to have been precision cut by man.  Experience the extensive museum and then head into the surface mine to prospect and keep all you find.  If you do not want to go into the mine then you can “sluice” mine for the diamonds—called “soft mining”.  It is similar to panning for gold and perfect for any age group.

In the afternoon you will head to  Cooperstown  for lunch at the Fly Creek Cider Mill which has been in operation for 153 years.  Before or after your lunch you will love browsing their shop where you can taste test more than 40 unique food items and then visit the mill pond complete with ducks ,turkeys and chickens.

Early afternoon will find you exploring the incredible Cooperstown Farmers Museum, an original and recreated village of the 1840s where costumed villagers move about the 26 structures and perform everyday tasks from that era such as spinning wool, making wallpaper by hand press, harvesting hops or grinding herbs for pharmaceutical use.  You will also visit the Cooperstown National Baseball Hall of Fame where the legends of the game come alive.

That evening you will enjoy a private dinner at Brooks Roost, a log cabin type banquet facility overlooking a scenic valley. The dinner is an all you can eat BBQ of chicken, ribs and beef together with all the salads, fixings and dessert.

The next morning you head to Arkville, New York for a fabulous two hour and 15 minute train ride through the legendary Catskill Mountains on the Delaware and Ulster Railroads’ luxury Rip Van Winkle Flyer.  You will have a great sit down lunch during your train ride along with a lively narration by your host, Dave.  The Rip Van Winkle Flyer is a collection of the finest railcars on the east coast.  They were located, restored and are lovingly cared for by Dave.

Prices through 2011 include all the activities and motel accommodations and are $280 to $340 per person, all inclusive, not including bus transportation.

Other packages from two day /one night to seven day / six night are also available.
